Abstract  Abstract

The invention describes a method and apparatus for determining the transfer time in a wireless communication system, using the current transfer attribute and using TuneAwayRequest messages of MessageSequence matching with the recent receiving TuneAwayResponse. For the sector with given sector offset, the transfer period with number of n starts from TuneAwayTimeNn, wherein TuneAwayTimeNn is the function of t0, StartOffsetN, SectorOffset,n and TuneAwayPeriodicityN; the transfer period with number of n ends at TuneBackTimeNn, wherein TuneBackTimeNn is the function of TuneAwayTimeNn and TuneAwayDurationNn; the invention can judge whether a TuneAwayTimeNn is located at the frame boundary of frame j and frame j+1.
