Abstract  Abstract

A method and apparatus for requesting a ChannelMeasurementReport of a wireless communication system are described. The 8-bit MessageID field set to 0x07, the 12-bit PilotPN field set to PilotPN of the sector requesting the measurement report, the 2-bit CarrierID field set to the carrier for which the measurement is requested, and the PHYFrame of the access terminal requested to start the measurement. The 40-bit StartPHYFrame field set to the frame number, the 3-bit NumChannels field set to the number of channels being measured, the 8-bit MeasurementsPerMessage field to determine the number of measurements included in one report message, and the total number of measurements made by the access terminal. A ChannelMeasurementReportRequest message comprising an 8 bit NumMeasurementsRequested field and a 4 bit Reserved field to determine is generated and sent over the communication link.

Channel measurement report request, channel measurement report request message, wireless communication system, access terminal, access network
