Abstract  Abstract

A user equipment has a receiving antenna for receiving a reference signals and data signal versions. Each reference signal is received from a different antenna from a single transmission site and each data signal version is received from a different antenna from a single transmission site. The received reference signals are filtered using a code associated wit the reference signals. Each filtered reference signal is weighted by a particular weight. The weighted first signals are combined to produce a combined signal and each of the reference signals particular weight is adaptively adjusted based on in part a signal quality of the combined signal. Each data signal version is filtered with a code associated with the data signal version. The filtered versions are combined to recover data.
