A method for treating timer in radio communication system comprising: starting a timer poll periodic timer which is used for entity of the acknowledged mode (AM) of the radio link control (RLC) layer performing a reset program which is used for entity of acknowledged mode (AM) of the radio link control and restarting the timer poll periodic timer as response to timer poll periodic timer expire before the reset program ends. The invention also shows proper treating manners of the other eight timers after resetting or re-establishing the radio link control so as to avoid dead-lock phenomenon of the entity of acknowledged mode of the radio link control or reduce quality of the service.
