A method for processing timer in radio communication system the method comprises: starting a timer poll periodic timer of entity of acknowledged mode of radio link control (RLC) layer executing a reset program of entity of radio link control acknowledged mode (RLC AM) and restarting timer poll periodic timer as the reaction of timer poll periodic timer expire before finishing reset program. The invention also indicates processing modes of other eights timers besides resetting or re-establishing radio link control (RLC) so as to avoid the solid of radio link control acknowledged mode is at the state of dead-lock or avoid reducing the service mass.
