Abstract  Abstract

A method for processing timer in radio communication system comprises following steps: starting a Timer_Poll_Periodic timer for AM (Acknowledged Mode) entity of RLC (Radio Link Control) layer implementing a reset procedure for RLC AM entity and restarting the Timer_Poll_Periodic timer as the reaction to expire of the Timer_Poll_Periodic timer before finishing the reset procedure. The invention indicates the proper processing methods for another eight timers after the RLC resetting or re-establishing to avoid deadlock occurring in the RLC AM entity or decrease of service quality.
