Abstract  Abstract

A signal processing method for generating a broadband voice signal from inputs comprising low band filter parameters, a low band excitation signal and high band filter parameters, said method comprising: according to at least the low band excitation signal and a plurality of the low band filter parameters, synthesize a low band voice signal; generate a high band excitation signal based on the low band excitation signal; according to at least the high band excitation signal and a plurality of the high band filter parameters, synthesize a high band voice signal; and combining the low band voice signal and the high band voice signal to obtain the broad band voice signal, where said generation of a high band excitation signal includes applying a nonlinear function to a signal that is based in the low band excitation signal to generate a spectrally extended signal and mix a signal that is based on the spectrally extended signal with a modulated noise signal, where the high band excitation signal is based on the mixed signal and where the Modulated noise signal is based on a result of the modulation of a noise signal according to a time domain envelope of a signal based on at least one between the low band voice signal, the low band excitation signal and the spectrally extended signal.
