Abstract  Abstract

1. A method of generating an excitation signal in the high frequency range, comprising the steps of:! harmoniously expand the spectrum of the signal, which is based on the excitation signal in the low frequency range; ! calculating the envelope in the time domain of the signal, which is based on the excitation signal in the low frequency range; ! modulating the noise signal in accordance with the envelope in the time domain; and! combine (A) a harmonically expanded signal based on the result of said harmonic expansion and (B) a modulated noise signal based on the result of said modulation,! moreover, the excitation signal in the high frequency range is based on the result of said combination. ! 2. The method according to claim 1, wherein said harmonic expansion comprises the step of applying a nonlinear function to a signal that is based on an excitation signal in the low frequency range. ! 3. The method according to claim 2, in which said application of a nonlinear function comprises the step of applying a nonlinear function in the time domain. ! 4. The method according to claim 2, in which the non-linear function is a non-linear function without memory. ! 5. The method according to claim 2, in which the nonlinear function is not time-varying. ! 6. The method according to claim 2, in which the nonlinear function contains at least one of the functions: an absolute value function, a squaring function, and a constraint function. ! 7. The method according to claim 2, in which the non-linear function is a function of the absolute value. ! 8. The method according to claim 1, in which the said calculation of the envelope in the time domain of the signal, which is based on the excitation signal in the low frequency range
