Abstract  Abstract

1. A signal processing method comprising the steps of! synthesize a low-frequency speech signal according to at least a low-frequency excitation signal and a combination of low-pass filter parameters,! generate a highband excitation signal based on a lowband excitation signal,! according to at least a highband excitation signal and a combination of highpass filter parameters, a highband speech signal is synthesized, and! combine the low-frequency speech signal and the high-frequency speech signal to produce a broadband speech signal,! however, in the step of generating the highband excitation signal, a nonlinear function is applied to the signal, which is based on the lowband excitation signal, to generate a spectrally expanded signal in which the highband excitation signal is based on the spectrally expanded signal. ! 2. The signal processing method according to claim 1, wherein in the step of synthesizing the low-frequency band speech signal, the low-frequency band speech signal is synthesized according to at least a low-band band excitation signal and a combination of linear prediction filter coefficients. ! 3. The signal processing method according to claim 1, wherein in the step of synthesizing a highband speech signal, a highband speech signal is synthesized according to at least a highband excitation signal and a combination of linear prediction filter coefficients. ! 4. The signal processing method according to claim 1, wherein the non-linear function is non-linear
