Abstract  Abstract

Systems, methods, and apparatus for suppression of high bandwidth bursts. In one embodiment, a high band burst suppressor detects a burst in a corresponding high band audio signal and a first burst detector configured to detect bursts in the low band audio signal. And a second burst detector configured to: The low band and high band audio signals may be in different (possibly overlapping) frequency domains of the wide band audio signal. The high band burst suppressor also includes an attenuation control signal calculator configured to calculate an attenuation control signal in response to a difference between the outputs of the first and second burst detectors. The gain control element is configured to apply the attenuation control signal to the high band audio signal. In one example, the attenuation control signal indicates attenuation when a burst is found in the high band audio signal but is not present in the temporally corresponding region of the low band audio signal.
