Abstract  Abstract

1. A signal processing method, wherein said method comprises the steps of:! calculating a first burst indicator signal, which indicates whether a burst is detected in the low-frequency part of the speech signal; ! calculating a second burst indicator signal, which indicates whether a burst is detected in the high-frequency part of the speech signal; ! form the control signal attenuation according to the relationship between the first and second signals of the burst indicator and! apply the attenuation control signal to the high frequency part of the speech signal. ! 2. The signal processing method according to claim 1, wherein at least one of said computing a first burst indicator signal and computing a second burst indicator signal comprises the steps of:! form an envelope of the corresponding part of the speech signal, which is smoothed in the positive direction of time; ! indicate the initial region of the burst in a straight smoothed envelope; ! form the envelope of the corresponding part of the speech signal, which is smoothed in the negative direction of time; and! indicate the final region of the burst in the inverse smoothed envelope. ! 3. The signal processing method according to claim 2, wherein at least one of said calculation of the first burst indicator signal and the calculation of the second burst indicator signal comprises the step of detecting a coincidence in time of the start and end regions. ! 4. The signal processing method according to claim 2, wherein at least one of said calculation of the first burst indicator signal and the calculation of the second burst indicator signal comprises the step of indicating
